Flaring latitudes in ensembles of low-mass stars

چکیده
The distribution of small-scale magnetic fields in stellar photospheres is an important ingredient our understanding the magnetism low mass stars. Their spatial connects field generated interior with outer corona and large scale field, thereby affects space weather planets. Unfortunately, we lack techniques that can locate them on most low-mass One strategy to localize concentrations using flares occur their vicinity. We explore a new method adapts spot simulation software fleck study modulation flaring times as function active latitude. use empirical relations construct flare light curves similar those available from Kepler Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), search for flares, waiting between determine location latitudes. find mean standard deviation time provide unique diagnostic latitudes number regions. Latitudes are best recovered when stars have three or less regions repeatedly, latitude widths below 20 deg; either increases, information about gradually lost. demonstrate technique sample G dwarfs observed satellite, furthermore suggest combining ensemble methods spots could overcome limitations each individual localization surface fields.

Mass-luminosity relation of low mass stars
The data on dynamic masses and multicolor photometry of 56 M-type components of binary/multiple systems was collected. Critical evaluation of late type stars bolometric correction scales have been performed. Our refined and reduced data is comparedwith published empirical and theoreticalmassluminosity relations. Our data does not exclude the existence of a step-like feature at MV = 12m. The bes...
متن کاملEvolution of Low Mass Stars
We describe the evolution of low mass (1.5 < M=M < 0:02) stars and brown dwarfs starting from the hydrostatic phases of pre{main sequence contraction and evolving along the deuterium and lithium burning to reach the hydrogen burning main sequence or the brown dwarf degenerate cooling. With the help of new models computed by us, which we describe to the community taking advantage of this occasio...
متن کاملMagnetic flaring in pre-main sequence stars
Observations of nearby star forming clouds with imaging Xray telescopes have revealed that X-ray emission is elevated 10 − 10 above main sequence levels in low-mass pre-main sequence (PMS) stars. The variability and spectral X-ray evidence, together with circularly polarized radio continuum flares seen in a few cases, strongly argues for an origin in magnetic reconnection flares. These high lev...
متن کاملLow-mass bare strange stars
Strange stars with low masses are suggested to exist in reality, the origin of which could be via accretion-induced collapse (AIC) of white dwarfs. Such a strange star is likely bare, and would thus spin very fast, even to a period of < 0.1 ms. Strange stars with low masses may differ from those with solar-masses in various astrophysical appearances. Observations to test this “low-mass” idea ar...
متن کاملDeep inside low-mass stars
Low-mass stars exhibit, at all stages of their evolution, the signatures of complex physical processes that require challenging modeling beyond standard stellar theory. In this review, we recall the most striking observational evidences that probe the interaction and interdependence of various transport processes of chemicals and angular momentum in these objects. We then focus on the impact of...
